Research Architect

About María Isabel De La Cruz Luis

Architect and researcher with training in geomatics, cartography, and artificial intelligence. Her work focuses on urban adaptation to climate change through geospatial analysis, integrating multidisciplinary approaches to identify vulnerabilities and propose territorial resilience strategies.

Mexican architect graduated from the University of Guadalajara. She obtained a Master’s degree in Geodetic Engineering and Cartography from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in Geomatics Engineering.

In 2024, she earned a certification in Artificial Intelligence from the Samsung Innovation Campus, acquiring expertise in Python programming, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and management of large datasets.

Her architectural background, combined with specialization in geomatics and cartography, has enabled her to develop a multidisciplinary professional and research profile. This skill set facilitates effective collaboration with diverse technical teams, integration of geospatial analysis with urban and architectural frameworks, and a comprehensive understanding of the impact of socioeconomic inequalities on urban and territorial development.

Her current research focuses on urban climate change adaptation, emphasizing the application of geospatial tools for vulnerability assessment and the design of resilience strategies at the territorial scale.

“Our passage through this world is so absurd and fleeting that the only thing that brings me peace is knowing that I have been authentic, that I have managed to be as close to myself as possible.”
