Her mission is to investigate environmental concerns, social and psychological factors, contextual and political dimensions, that underlie sustainability and climate change adaptation.
Marianne has worked in different organisations and cities, in projects development, teaching, education, and research. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Psychology from the University of Barcelona (UB), a postgraduate degree in territorial planning from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and a master’s degree in Social Sciences, specializing in Social and Organisational Psychology and Environmental Psychology from the University Paris Descartes (Paris V).
She worked on participatory governance and coordination of associative networks for a municipality in the city of Paris in France, supporting the municipal team in policies promoting citizen participation and the institutionalisation of processes, responsible for the development of local projects, public consultations, assemblies, forums, participatory budgeting, etc.
She has also worked in facilitating workshops on environmental awareness and education, and as an academic teacher in Ecuador and Chile in socio-environmental intervention, environmental psychology, social psychology, and introduction to social sciences.
She works at ICATALIST on sustainability, climate change adaptation, communication, network coordination, fostering connection between communities, citizen involvement, developing strategies and tools to involve all parties. She analyses socio-psychological and contextual factors, promoting a greater sense of belonging, empowerment, and community support, participatory policies, in order to address the challenges posed by climate change and sustainability.
