Oscar Bolaños

He has a degree in biology and a master’s degree in ecology. During his training and professional experience, he has been interested in the management and conservation of socio-ecological systems as well as in sustainability sciences, from a multidisciplinary approach.

About Oscar Bolaños

Graduate in Biology from the Complutense University of Madrid, specialising in Environmental Biology. He visited national parks in Spain and Chile, where he had the opportunity to learn first-hand about ecosystem restoration and conservation projects, and also came into contact with the management of public use and environmental education in these areas.

After this first professional experience, she decided to specialise by taking a Master’s degree in Ecology (UAM). During her time at UAM, she collaborated with the research group “Laboratorio de Socioecosistemas” and with IMIDRA, within the AgroLAB project.

Later, he had access to a one-year scholarship at the Fundación Biodiversidad, followed by a short period as an external technician. During this stage, he had contact with urban renaturation and river restoration projects in different Spanish cities, learning about BDS, participation and project management mainly.

At Icatalist, Óscar works on national and international projects, supporting the Climate Change Adaptation and Citizen Participation work streams.
