ReforestaAcción
We continue the initiative «One million trees» with the aim of restoring the vegetation cover due to the growing desertification in Spain, carrying out reforestation.
REXUS offers a comprehensive strategy to incorporate WaterEnergyFoodClimate (WEFC) nexus thinking and promote resilient management by designing management tools that take into account all dimensions of the nexus, resulting in the holistic security of all its elements.
To achieve a sustainable water future, purely sectoral views cannot provide solutions, as new strategies have to be integrative. Awareness of the interdependencies between the water, energy and food sectors is increasingly evident. Alongside these «competing» uses of water are the risks posed by the impacts of climate change on future water supplies. In the future, we will need quality water to drink, to grow food and to produce energy. REXUS aspires to use the power of the nexus approach to advance policies towards better coordinated water management.
The objective of REXUS is to improve the integrated management of WEFC resources, in a context of uncertainty in the face of climate change.
REXUS will allow the development of more accurate estimates of future water, energy and food demands, through better knowledge sharing between stakeholders and the use of models in nexus analyses.
