In order to address flood risk in a holistic way, knowledge and functioning of our ecosystems and their main components, including rivers and watercourses in general, is fundamental. For this reason, technicians and those responsible for the hydrological administration are an essential part of their professional knowledge in tackling the risk of flooding in each of the problematic points that currently exist in the Duero basin and which, with climate change, are going to be progressively more compromised.
ICATALIST, S.L. has provided technical assistance for the organisation and management of participatory and governance workshops, structured in 3 sessions, commissioned by the Confederación Hidrográfica del Duero (CHDuero) in the development of the 2nd planning cycle of the Flood Risk Plan – PGRI – as part of the first revision of the aforementioned plan. The 3 days were always under the supervision of the CHDuero.
The main objective of the workshops consisted of technical support for the selection of the essential topics that would respond to the public participation contemplated in the revision of the PGRI, the structure, programming, logistics of the agents summoned-invited and delivery of the subsequent reports corresponding to both workshops.
Both conferences focused on Flood Risk Management in the Duero river basin, both technical and applied with special relevance in the attention of governance and citizen participation in understanding and understanding the actions, which to avoid the risk of flooding, should be carried out in the different rivers and streams of the Duero basin.
In both days the recipients were designated by the CHDuero and it was chosen to start with the technical staff of the organisation, both technical and field (river guards) as well as the technical assistance staff of Tragsa and Tragsatec, a company that has a contract directly with the administration to carry out interventions, inspections and collaborations in the field of watercourses in the Duero basin.
