Maia

Maximising the impact of climate research projects funded by Horizon Europe.

Project information

Horizon2020 project Funded by the EU

Work areas

Climate change

In collaboration with

BC3, BRC, ARC, HNUA, SPI, AQUA, AIT, SEI, SCC, R4, IM,TAD

Status

Finishes in September 2025

Problem definition

Climate change adaptation and mitigation require a systemic approach coordinating structural, socio-political, organisational, community and individual changes.

MAIA’s challenge is to help connect dispersed climate change knowledge, making it interoperable and reusable, and as accessible as possible. It creates synergies and interconnection between completed and ongoing EU climate change research projects, supporting them in the communication and dissemination of their results, communication, outcomes, proposed solutions, etc.

MAIA incorporates knowledge from social sciences such as psychology, which is key to climate change communication.

MAIA proposes to maximise the impact of climate research projects funded by Horizon Europe and multiply the impact of climate change outreach.

Concrete measures

  • Outreach campaign to accompany, empower and help
  • Consolidate connectivity communities, platforms, knowledge and research on climate change
  • Provide proven measures for dissemination and communication of research
  • Providing measures for the acceleration of knowledge exploitation, maximising interoperability and accessibility, and more economically sustainable results
