Status

Finishes in December 2025

Problem definition

Cities are responsible for approximately 75% of global emissions, which is why action in cities is essential to meet the 2030 and 2050 emission reduction targets of the European Green Pact, established in response to the Paris Agreement. In addition, the European Mission for Smart and Climate Neutral Cities by 2030 calls for even faster action by cities to achieve neutrality.

Concrete measures

UP2030 will identify barriers to the implementation of scalable solutions and will carry out several studies on the development of key policies and actions for the necessary transition in cities. These actions aim to create the necessary environment for innovation and climate neutrality, with multi-level and cross-sectoral collaboration, shifting from a business-as-usual approach to decarbonisation to a vision and strategy-based approach.

ICATALIST has the role of facilitating the creation of collective spaces (Learning and Action Alliances and Local Innovation Communities).

This project has received funding from Horizon Innovation Actions under grant agreement n° 101096405.
