Extensive scientific evidence shows that species are becoming extinct at a rate unprecedented in human history. This sixth mass extinction has serious consequences for ecosystems, climate, health, economy and society. BIODIVERSA+ encourages partnership members to fund research activities that lead to breakthrough discoveries in biodiversity. In particular, the participation of the Mediterranean ecoregion in the partnership is essential, as it is one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots and one of Europe’s main reservoirs of multiple species. BIODIVERSA+ is an opportunity for funding and boosting connectivity and habitat improvement within Spain and with other EU bioregions.

The services provided by ICATALIST are aimed at supporting the Fundación Biodiversidad in its tasks derived from its participation in the partnership. Specifically, ICATALIST monitors calls for proposals for grants in which FB participates as a funding agency, supports its participation in general assemblies and other meetings, as well as the analysis of documents and proposals for comments.
