El proyecto ACT on NBS está diseñado para aumentar la aceptación de las Medidas basadas en la naturaleza (MbN) y establecer un ecosistema de innovación creciente y sostenible.
El proyecto reúne a ciudades, investigadores y expertos para apoyar la ampliación innovadora de las MBN en ciudades, países y a nivel internacional. A menudo, los beneficios reales y múltiples que pueden derivarse de una mayor aceptación de las ENB justifican que la exploración de las MbN se convierta en el centro de un programa de Climate-KIC del EIT.
ICATALIST, junto con TUDelft, está a cargo de conectar, acelerar y ampliar las MbN en las comunidades de innovación que incluyen empresas incipientes que combinan sus innovaciones con los desafíos climáticos a los que se enfrentan los municipios y con las oportunidades de financiación.

El proyecto tenía 5 actividades clave entrelazadas y diseñadas como experimentos de aprendizaje en red para aumentar conjuntamente la captación de las SbN, así como una actividad de coordinación dedicada a establecer y hacer crecer un ecosistema de innovación exitoso.
La actividad de coordinación estableció una plataforma de intercambio de conocimientos y facilitando que pequeños equipos gestionasen activamente la comunidad y buscasen oportunidades de financiación. Además, una junta asesora aseguraba la sostenibilidad del proyecto, la ampliación de los impactos, la dirección estratégica y la influencia política.
La creación de capacidades y asistencia técnica para crear las condiciones para una mayor aceptación de las MbN dentro de los municipios, incluso mediante la comprensión entre departamentos, la adquisición y la comunicación con el público.
Revisión y evaluación de herramientas que apoyasen una mayor aceptación de las SbN con climatologías y talleres específicos sobre el tema de las Soluciones basadas en la naturaleza.
Conectar, acelerar y ampliar las SbN en las comunidades de innovación.
Promover la inteligencia colectiva y la cocreación para las SbN a través de nuevos canales de concienciación y de la participación de múltiples actores.

The coordination activity established a platform for knowledge sharing and facilitated small teams to actively manage the community and seek funding opportunities. In addition, an advisory board ensured project sustainability, impact scaling, strategic direction and political influence.
Capacity building and technical assistance to create the conditions for greater acceptance of MbNs within municipalities, including through cross-departmental understanding, procurement and communication with the public.
Review and evaluation of tools to support wider uptake of BNS with climatologies and specific workshops on the topic of Nature Based Solutions.
